A word with no translation

I went back to visit

and the place still had

it's old magic

but the people had gone.

I found

one small trace

of them

a stepping stone

in the grass

to help cross the green.

When the time came to leave,

I realised

that you can revisit

a place,

but you can't revisit

a time.

I wondered,

remembering a word.

Did it mean that feeling?

Or was the feeling

a stepping stone

left behind

for me?
